Private Investigators used to help verify Online Affairs

Private Investigators are being called upon to monitor spouses activity on the home computer. Spouses suspecting their partner of Infidelity or Online Affairs can generally trace it back to patterns starting with the home computer.

With the increase in dating websites such as Adult Matchmaker, RSVP and the new Ashley Madison which helps promote and guarantees you can have an affair, it is easy for someone to set up a fake profile with the intention of meeting another person.

Because everything can be arranged online, there are no phone calls to start with, all emails, and we all know how easy it is to set up a new email address.

Our Private Investigators in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide have put our heads together and come up with a list of 7 things to check to see if your partner could be potentially arranging to meet with another person online.

What to check if you suspect your partner is having an online affair.

  1. If your partner is at the computer, does the screen suddenly flicker or do you notice whatever was on the screen as you walk in the room quickly changes to something else.

  2. Is there a password on the computer so that YOU can't access it and when asked for it, they refuse to give it to you.

  3. If you can access the computer, check through the history logs, is it completely clean? or are their websites listed.

  4. Check through the search engine log. So Google, Yahoo, Ninemsn etc may all have embedded search fields within your browser, check their history to see if it has been cleared.

  5. There are a number of Browsers that can be used to search for things online. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, Flock. You would need to go through the history of all of them. Just don't assume the person uses Internet Explorer.

  6. If you do notice that the history is all clear, you can check for Cookies, these are pieces of data that websites leave on your computer. See if there are any relating to dating websites.

  7. Use a key logger program to record keystrokes typed on the computer to help ascertain what is really going on.
