There are a number of surveillance techniques deployed on jobs at any given time. The type of surveillance used will depend on the requirements of our clients and the job itself. All three methods can and have been used on the same job by 1 or more investigators at any one time.
Static Surveillance involves setting up an Observation Post out the front of or near the Subject Premises. The objective of a Static Surveillance would be to video or note the number of people going in and out of premises, watching for potential vandalism or break and enters, or even watching and waiting to see if a husband or wife turns up to a known persons of interest address.
Foot Surveillance involves following someone on foot once they exit a premises. The objective of a Foot Surveillance is to work out where a person of interest may be going or who they may be meeting up with.
Mobile Surveillance involves following someone in their motor vehicle. The objective of Mobile Surveillance is to work out where a person of interest may be going or whom they may be meeting up with.
A fourth type of surveillance is also used, but generally, not by us.
